I am part of the continuum of life spanning from my grandparents to my grandchildren, and this is perhaps the only life I have. It is during this final 1/3 of my day, in small scattered moments of personal vitality, that I choose to continuously learn, adapt, and protect the tomorrow of my own home and family.

As citizens of our own countries, we are also citizens of the European Union—part of a culturally rich union of 27 nations and 450 million people. As "inhuman" interaction technologies threaten to expand beyond our comprehension, we must secure a fundamental digital civic right: the tools to upgrade our human vigilance, capability, and active agency. This is how we, the 450 million citizens, from infant to senior, will become the true bosses of the "Digital Decade 2030," standing sovereign and vigilant amidst both internal and external waves of change.
